WILSON, Minn. – Between emergency runs, the volunteer firefighters at Wilson take their flag protocols seriously. Their U.S. flag was half-staff in honor of 13 uniformed soldiers who died in the last days if the Kubal airlift. In all, 176 people died, most of them Afghans awaiting evacuation flights.
