MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – Congressional hopeful Richard Painter filed papers with the secretary of state for southern Minnesota’s vacant MN-1 seat. Painter, a Democrat, announced his candidacy 1-1/2 weeks ago but delayed filing. Painter has been a frequent commentator on political ethics on cable news channels. He is an ardent critic of ex-President Trump.
