WINONA, Minn. – In an initiative to fold community input into Winona school policy, the district is looking to parent-teacher conferences for recommendations on the 2021-22 school calendar. The district’s calendar committee chair, high school Principal Mark Anderson, told the School Board that the calendar can become an opportunity to get parents into the building and to build relationships. Conferences to discuss the calendar will be staggered at varied times to accommodate parent needs, he said. It will be nearer one-on-one than typical open houses, he said.
