EYOTA, Minn. – Several persons were hurt albeit none seriously in a two-vehicle pile-up on U.S. Highway 14 west of Eyota. Deputies said one vehicle rear-rear-ended another that was stopped behind a third vehicle blocking the lane of traffic to turn onto County Road 102. The driver of the rear-ended car in the middle, Omar Aweis Abbas, 27, of Rochester, was unhurt. His passengers were transported 14 miles to a Rochester hospital: Maryian Mohamed Sheriff, 57, of Seattle, Washington; Faila Aweis Abbas, 21, of Rochester; and Hannah Aweis Abbas, 15, of Rochester. They were in a 2022 Honda CR-V. Crashing into them was a Ford F150 pickup driven by Greg Arvid Wright, 57, of Kasson. He was unhurt. A passenger, Lisa Marie Luehmann Lane, 58, of Rochester, was taken to a hospital. The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. The pavement was wet.
