WINONA, Minn. – A Winona motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a collision on Highway 43 below the Super 8 hotel. Gary Jay Heim, 55, was eastbound on his 2015 Harley-Davidson on 43, the State Patrol said. The other driver, John Jay Kafka, 52, of DeWitte, Virginia, in a 2019 Chevrolet pickup, was coming down the East lake Boulevard slope. About DeWitte, the State Patrol said alcohol was a factor. The accident was about 4:55 p.m.
