ROCHESTER, Minn. – Federal inspectors said a plane crash near the Rochester airport in March was due to engine failure. The preliminary report from the National Transportatin Safety Board confirmed the pilot’s account. The pilot said he was in an initial climb off a runway, up about 650 feet, when the engine lost power. The pilot said the engine didn’t sputter but went “click click.” He went down in a grove at the Oak Summit Golf Course. He walked away with minor injuries.
