WINONA, Minn. — A drunk driver being chased by police found himself up a dead-end street so he turned into the Westfield golf course – yes, right across the greens. The driver struck a wooden pole, jumped from the vehicle, and ran on foot around the clubhouse. The pursuing officer continued the chase, finally arresting Brian David Kromke, 50, of, Rollingstone. All this is per the police incident report. Officers said he chase began for speeding on Riverview Drive about 12:50 a.m. Once apprehended, police said, Kromke showed signs of heavy intoxication — glassy eyes, slurred speech, and wobbliesss. He was booked for drunken driving, fleeing police, and an invalid driver license. Westfield contacted its insurance carrier about restoring the greens.

Kromke. Not what most people would consider a tee-off.
