MINNEAPOLIS – The jury in police officer Kim Potter’s manslaughter trial returned to the courtroom for clarifications from the judge, fueling speculation that it may be intractably divided on a verdict. The jury asked what to do if it can’t reach a verdict. Judge Regina Chu said to continue working. The jury spent five hours in deliberations Monday and all day Tuesday. Jurors also asked if they could remove zip-ties from Potter’s service revolver and Taser to get a feel for the weapons. The judge granted permission. The jury is deliberating at the courthouse and at night is sequestered at a hotel for as long as it takes.
