ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Senate passed a bill to help businesses and individuals who are affected by an unexpected spike in natural gas prices. The bill, proposed by State Senator Dave Senjem, R-Rochester, would provide $15 million in interest-free loans that would be repaid over five years. The bill was sent t the House. The natural gas price spike occurred in February when the Polar Vortex triggered massive storms that immobilized Texas for a week and created energy shortages throughout the Midwest.
