WINONA, Minn. – Frank J. Morawiecki Jr., of Winona, whose Frank’s Best Veggies provided produce for friends, family, food shelves and local chefs, died at home of cancer. He studied engineering at Winona State University, and attended Winona Tech. He was the first American-born child of Polish-Ukrainian immigrants who fled Germany in 1949. He was proud of being the star pitcher in the Little League championship game when he was 11. As a teenager he delivered Rocco’s pizzas. He inspired his wife Nola to open a downtown flower shop in 2004 and did deliveries and kept the books.
