WINONA, Minn. — Fred W. Wirsig, 83, of Winona, a retired Quaker Oats executive in Barrington, Illinois, died at home after a brief hospice stay. Although born in New York, he grew up in Germany. He held a master’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago. He retired to Winona in 1996.
