ESCONDIDO, Calif. — Helen “Marie” Mary Wicka, 88, who was born in Trempealeau and grew up in Winona, died peacefully in Escondido. She moved to San Diego, where five of their six children were born. In 1966, the family moved back to Winona, until 1981, when a son and grandson returned to California and settled in Escondido.
