ST. PAUL, Minn. – Two prolific mail thieves from the Twin Cities men were sentenced in federal court. They conspired to steal mail and packages from post offices, apartment complexes and stand-alone mailboxes for months, federal prosecutors said. Sentenced to 78 months in prison was Davis Her, 36, of St Paul. His accomplice, Sonny Vang Xiong, 32, of Maplewood, will be away 36 months. Both pleaded guilty. They used stolen postal keys, pry bars, and other burglary tools. They looked for checks, money orders, identification documents, and credit and debit cards. Xiong and Her used the stolen checks and money orders to create fraudulent checks and falsified money orders that they gave to others to cash. Xiong and Her also used stolen account numbers, IDs, and personal identifying information to create fake checks and fake identification documents.
