WINONA, Minn. — A local snake-handler is getting to know the Wildwood Drive neighborhood well. The police dispatcher in Winona took a call at 11:34 a.m. about a rattlesnake at a bluff-side residence a couple miles upstream from Saint Mary’s University. The handler corralled the snake and transported it to new environs far away. Two hours later, at 2:24 p.m., the handler was called back to a home next door for another snake. The calls were in the same area where a rattler was removed two weeks earlier. Brothers? Sisters? The handler heard the rattles but couldn’t decode familial details of the message.
