ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Civic Music director, Steven Schmidt, plans to retire after 32 years. Duringhis tenure Schmdt developed the Down by the Riverside free summer concert series and assisted in the creation of other music programs, including Riverside Live!, Global Music, Artists in the Schools, and Live from Med City. Before his Rochester career he manage the T.B.Sheldon auditorium theater in Red Wing.
