BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Vandals who released fire extinguishers in the Forrest Street grade school caused worse damage than first thought. The chemicals corroded metal infrastructure. Superintendent Shelly Severson said it might be October until repairs are completed. The vandalism was August 10. The goal originally was to reopen after Labor Day, even then two weeks late. Now, in the meantime, arrangements are being made for interim classes at Lunda Community Center and some churches.

Forrest Street School. Summer remodeling project. Expecting 350 pre-K through first grade for fall.
