ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Senate passed a funding bill that provides a $750 monthly room and board supplement for mental health patients. The bill also aims to lower prescription drug costs by importing federally approved cheaper drugs from select foreign sources. State Senator Jeremy Miller R-Winona, said in a KWNO radio interview that he worked with Hiawatha Valley Mental Health of Winona on the new coverage. The provision is in the Senate health and human budget bill that moves next to a conference committee. Miller said the mental-health-care funding is supported by both Democrats and Republicans.
