WINONA, Minn. – A recount settled the contested race for second spot on the November mayor ballot. Scott Sherman, a regional sales rep for sporting equipment, picked up five votes in the recount, which put him on the ballot against downtown gallery owner Jovy Rockey. The recount: Sherman 1,264, Michelle Alexander 1,259. Rockey’s 1.654 votes in the primary were uncontested.
