ROCHESTER, Minn. – A pilot program to chew up and burn fallen branches, sticks and leaves with a device called the Kirby-Smith S223 has begun Rochester. A Rochester company, Hathaway Tree Service, has told the city that the device is environmentally friendly. The first test will be 45 tons of woody debris at Kalmar Reservoir 6 on the Northwest Side.
