ST. PAUL, Minn. – A field of 77 candidates for state Teacher of the Year has been narrowed to 22, the teachers group Minnesota Education announced. The semifinalists include two southern Minnesota educators: Kevin Gentz, an Albert Lea high school math teacher, and John Schneider, at Banfield Elementary School in Austin.
