OWATONNA, Minn. – The Canadian Pacific resumed freight service on its single-track granger branch across southern Minnesota after a truck-train collision blocked the route three days earlier. The 220-mile line links Winona on the Mississippi River, where cargo is  to  transferred to and from transcontinental lines, and Tracy on the South Dakota border. The line is a lifeline for industrial products, mostly lumber, grain, ethanol, natural gas and heavy construction materials.
