MADISON, Wis. – The commander of the 115th Fighter Wing, Colonel Bart Van Roo, said nothing was being spared in the search for a Wisconsin Air Guard pilot whose fighter jet crashed Wednesday afternoon in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Said Van Roo: “We are a close-knit family, and when an incident like this occurs, every member in our organization feels it.” He did not release the pilot’s name. “The safety of our pilot along with search and rescue efforts are our top priority, and we will continue to pray for the pilot’s safe return,” he said.

Van Roo. Squadron commander since September.
