ST. PAUL, Minn. – Police arrested Darren Lee Osborne, 56, on a Wisconsin warrant for the slaying of four friends in a vehicle that was left abandoned in a cornfield in northwest Wisconsin Sunday. Osborne was taken to the Ramsey County jail in St. Paul pending his return to Wisconsin. No homicide charges have been filed. In Wisconsin, Sheriff Kevin Bygd said the investigation still had many unanswered questions. Bygd said the slayings appeared to have occurred in Wisconsin after a 70-mile trip from St. Paul in Minnesota. “We can’t find any connection to this area other than randomly driving out of the Twin Cities,” Bygd said. “As we started to develop information relatively quickly, we knew we were in for a long-haul,” he said. “And to have one of them in custody this early is a pretty good feeling.”
