WABASHA, Minn. – Wabasha authorities gave chase to a car stolen in Winona and arrested the 17-year-old driver after he crashed and fled on foot. The driver was jailed awaiting transfer to Winona. The car had been stolen about 2:30 p.m. on Third Street in Winona. The owner told police he had left the motor running outside his apartment while he zipped back in. A moment later he returned and saw the car speeding down the street. He called police, who issued a multi-county alert for the silver car. In Wabasha, 20 minutes later and 30 miles upriver, police spotted the vehicle and gave chase.
