MOLINE, Ill. – More than 10,000 workers at John Deere voted to end a five-week strike against the farm and construction equipment manufacturer. Their union, the United Auto Workers said, said the margin was 2:1. The deal, which Deere said was its last offer, contains substantial gains for the union members. These included a 10% immediate raise, an $8,500 signing bonus, additional 5% raises in the third and fifth year of the proposed six-year deal, and additional lump sum payments equal to 3% of pay in in the second, fourth and sixth years.
