LEWISTON, Minn.– A 3-1/2 hour stand-off with police ended at a house with a Lewiston man surrendering without resistance. Lance Rashawn Gore, 38, came out hands up. With him were two juveniles, ages 14 and 13, who had been inside with him. There were no injuries. The incident ended at 1:10 a.m. There had been a disturbance in the townhouse, at 64 Benson Drive, with two shots fired before police arrived.
Earlier police call
Lewiston police had responded to a 911 call at the address about 5 p.m. By the time Winona County deputies arrived, the matter seemed resolved. Four hours later, neighbors called 911 that they had just heard two gunshots from the house. Police returned. No one answered the door ,but officers were aware of commotion inside. Police called for an armored vehicle and mobilized 20 officers, including a multi-agency emergency response team. With no one answering phones inside the house, negotiations began with loudspeakers on the armored vehicle. Nearby residents on the leagy residential street were evacuated.
Post-arrest house search
Eventually a police negotiator established sporadic communication with Gore. Through windows they could see Gore and the juveniles moving around inside the two-story house. Gore was carrying a long gun, police said. After the surrender and arrest, officers went into the house and located the long gun. About guns being fired, officers found two bullet holes – one in a ceiling, the other in a tree. The bullet in the tree apparently having been fired through an open window, although the window was closed by the time officers arrived. Offcers cleared the scene about 6 a.m.
Gore. Booked for reckless use of a firearms and being a felon with a firearm.

Gore was convicted in 2015 of fleeing police and driving drunk. These were Winona County charges.
