ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota State Patrol troopers whisked Governor Tim Walz’ 14-year-old son Gus to safety Wednesday after a protesters moved from the Capitol to the governor’s residence a few blocks away. The rescue was disclosed unexpectedly Monday by the governor himself in an online meeting with legislators on a broad issues of issues. Walz said that threats made at the St. Paul rally prompted troopers to enter the living quarters. Gus was crying as he looked for his dog while troopers carried him out, the governor, visibly angry, said. The boy was taken to an undisclosed location. In the meeting Walz, a Democrat, critcized Republican legislative leaders for continuing to question the November presidential election results, which, although confirmed as inaccurate, has been the fulcrum for protests. Walz let loose. “I’m just going to weigh in and then I’m going to sign off because I too am incredibly disappointed in this conversation,” Walz said. Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka and House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, both Republicans, have consented that Joe Biden won the presidency but have refused to distance themselves from unproved claims by Trump and Trump sympathizers that the election was rigged.
