WINONA, Minn. – Four dozen or so like-minded Winonans gathered at the Courthouse to celebrate the election of Joe Biden as the nation’s 46th president and Kamala Harris as vice president. Speakers expounded on the triumph of national unity and healing, human rights and social justice. Among U.S. flags were posters:
> Black Lives Matter
> Science is Real
> Defund the Police
> Say Their Names
> End White Silence
Several Stop Line 3 posters objected to a proposed bulking up of the aging Enbridge oil pipeline through the Mississippi River headwaters. Aside from occasional hecklers shouting from passing cars, the gathering was peaceful.

Short-sleeve rally. Indian Sumner temperatures rose toward 70s
