TREMPEALEAU, Wis. – Survey teams from the National Weather Service have declared more spots as tornado touchdowns, including one that thundered over the Mississippi River bluffs into a Trempealeau residential neighborhood. No one was hurt. The tornado, rated an EF-0, touched down less than two minutes. Several homes were damaged. Trees toppled trees onto four houses in a row on Seward Street near 10th Street – a block off State Highway 35. The tornado’s path was two-thirds of a mile long and as wide as 25 yards, the Weather Service survey team concluded. Winds peaked at an estimated 75 mph. The tornado originated over the Mississippi River slightly upriver from town and downriver from Eagle Bluff and Chicken Breast Bluff. It crossed the ridge and came down on a West Side neighborhood. It was on the ground from 8:23 to 8:24 p.m.
