WASHINGTON – Political pundit Inae Oh said it’s hard to find a focus in President Trump’s unpredictable and erratic tweets and his news conferences. One on-again, off-again theme seems to have been to demean governors, mostly Democrats, for initiatives against the coronavirus. Trump, a Republican, sometimes has called for bipartisanship against the virus, then lambasted governors, sometimes by name. He called Washington Gov. Jay Inslee “a snake.”  He called Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer “failing.” Then he railed against gun-control issues in Virginia. Wrote Unae Oh: “The latest signal that social distancing has fully warped into a culture war, one that depicts Democrats as oppressors willing to sabotage the economy and perhaps, in turn, the president’s reelection chances.”
