MADISON Wis. – All records from the closed Republican-ordered investigation into the 2020 presidential electionin Wisconsin are being made public. Attorney James Bopp of the state Assembly clerk’s office made the announcement at a court hearing over public access to government documents. At the hearing the watchdog group American Oversight demanded compliance with the state open records law. Trump supporters had used public tax dollars to finance the costly investigation, which in the end confirmed that Trump lost Wisconsin by 21,000 votes. The Trump group, some of whose members were embarrassed and angry at investigation’s findings, had wanted American Oversight’s lawsuit for openness to be thrown out. The Trumpers’ point became moot when Bopp told the judge that the documents were being uploaded already to the web “for all to see.”
