ST. PAUL, Minn. – A Sauk River man pleaded guilty to custom-building untraceable “ghost guns,” some with machine gun capabilities, and selling them for as much as $20,000 each. Jay James Olson, 21, had been arrested in April — in the eighth month of his gun-manufacturing enterprise. He had no license to build or sell weapons. The guns carried no serial numbers. To customers Olson also offered accessories. These included silencers, auto-sears to go into full machine-gun mode, and high-capacity magazines. He also made unlicensed no-serial-number Glock-style pistols. A confidential tipster led authorities to his arrest.

Olson. The firearms charges could mean five years in prison. Related drug charges could mean 20 years.
