DECORAH, Iowa — A Decorah man escaped injury when his ultralight plane crashed taking off froma pasture and hit a barbed wire fence. The craft slumped into a ditch and took out a power pole. Power was lost to neighboring farms near the intersection of Old Stage Road and Glenville Road. The accident was at twilight, about 8:40 p.m. The plane, a single-passenger Kitfox, will cost $6,500 to be airworthy again, the pilot said.
