MADISON Wis. —The University of Wisconsin System paid out nearly $70 million in coronavirus-related refunds to students, the Legislative Audit Bureau reported. The sum included $68.5 million in housing and food service refunds after the system’s 26 campuses closed in March The system did save money by closing dorms and food services, but those offsets were not cited in the report.
