GILMANTON, Wis. – Three young people suffered minor injuries when their vehicle slid across the road on ice and snow and crashed into a guardrail east of Gilmanton. Injured were Ashley A. Jailite, 20, of Pepin, the driver; Zachariah Sartan, 20, of Wabasha; and Madison Balk, 18, of Strum. They were taken to an Eau Claire hospital. They were southbound on Highway 37, the Chippewa Valley route linking Mondovi and Alma. Deputies said that speed and road conditions were factors.
