WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man wanted on a felony warrant was recognized by a police officer in the Kwik Trip convenience store on West Fifth. Terrell Desean Watkins 34, of Winona, was told he was under arrest. While being cuffed, Watkins broke and ran, yelling back that he had a knife and reaching into a pants pocket, police said. A second officer wrestled Watkins to the floor. With Watkins subdued, officers found he was carrying a foil of heroin and marijuana. Watkins suffered a head injury when he hit a srore counter going down. He also had a lip cut. He declined medical attention. The officer had a minor injury.
