ST.PAUL, Minn. – Secretary of State Scott Simon said that state Republican chair Jessica Carnahan and other Republicans have been “foolish and irresponsible” in casting doubts about the veracity of Minnesota elections. It’s all disinformation and “shameful,” said Simon, whose job is to run the elections. He focused on State Senator Mary Kiffmeyer, R-Big Lake, who chairs the Senate’s elections committee. She had pressed Simon in August about primary elections and again about the November general election. Simon said Kiffmeyer cited only “anecdotal reports” of irregular election activity and bad or manipulated software and equipment. She had no facts, Simon said.
