ST. PAUL, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz joined governors of 17 other states calling on Congress for a new a law to protect abortion rights. The governors’ call for a federal law was in response to a U.S. Supreme Court plan to abandon its 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that has afforded judicial protection for abortion. Walz said he was proud to join other governors “to protect half a century of women having full access to reproductive health care.”
