MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Natural Resources Department issued a red-flag warning for wildland and fire danger in 11 western counties fm counties Superior to Eagle River and south to Rusk. Burn permits were suspended in 15 additional counties. Warm temperatures, low humidity, gusty winds and exceptionally dry fuels from lack of precipitation worsened the chances for catastrophic fires, the agency warned.
