LEWISTON, Minn. – This has been one of the coolest and wettest Aprils in memory throughout the Coulee region. Then Sunday, May 1,  brought yet more rain. Rain was expected to persist into the week with daytime highs still below average.

Late bloomers. Gardeners can’t remember their April flowers ever this late. These daffodils, along Peterson Creek near Farmers Park, began showing their colors only on the 29th of April – five to six weeks late. Image: Steve Lunde
