WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man, Taelor Scott Giebel, 23, was arrested on the West End near Cotter Schools after police fund meth in his backpack, Then at jailhouse the police found a glass pipe with meth residue in is pants. The tentative charges: Possession of a controlled substance and introducing contraband into a jail. Giebel’s troubles of the evening began about 9:40 when police pulled over a car near of Fifth and Hilbert streets. He was a passsenger. The officer smelled marijuana, which the driver admitted to smoking earlier in the evening. She also had a marijuana pipe in her possession. The driver, Kathleen Ann Boardman, 23, of Winona, was cited for driving after revocation and warned for possession of the marijuana pipe. The officer then searched the vehicle and found a bag that contained .37 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for meth. Then they dug into Giebel’s backpack and found a substance that also field-tested positive for meth. Giebel denied the meth belonged to him, but the officer took him in anyway. The jailer then found he meth-stained glass pipe in Giebel’s pants.
