WYATTVLLE, Minn. – Sporadic but strong winds bent crops of young grain flat to the ground at dairy farms at scattered points in Warren Township. Gusts were 50 mph. Two waves of torrential rains swelled creeks in Winona and Houston counties. Many rain gauges showed one inch or more. At Pickwick, the stream washed into a road and forced a brief closure.Jn northwest Rochester, lightning struck the Gauthier metal fabricating factory. Without power, 85 workers were sent home early.
