WINONA, Minn. – Children can learn about traditional indigenous games – and join in – in a pair of two-hour sessions August 13. It’s called Northern Indigenous Games Day at Winona Middle School. The games: Longball, similar to baseball; shinny, a sport similar to hockey; lacrosse; double ball; running events; and a Meso-American game. Children in Grades K-2 can participate 9-11 a.m., Grades 3 at 12:30-2:30 p.m. Registration is suggested through Karla Winter. Or 507-494-0866.
