WINONA, Minn. – School bus drivers are in short supply in Winona, as elsewhere in the country. Casey Indra, transportation coordinator for the school system, said in an interview with radio station KWNO that it takes “a small army” for 40 twice-a-day Winona routes. So far, although stretched thin, all routes are covered. Indra said some districts have had to drop busing for after-school activities. Being considered, Indra said, is bringing in drivers from elsewhere to fill in.
