MADISON, Wis. – Republicans who control the Wisconsin Legislature approved a resolution to honor the late conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh. The Assembly adopted the resolution 56-35, the Senate 18-12. The resolution praised Limbaugh as “unforgettable” for advancing conservative policie.” Debate was fierce. Representative Scott Krug, R-Wisconsin Rapids, said Limbaugh taught him about conservatism and inspired deeper thoughts. One Democrat said he was about to vomit. Representative Christine Sinicki, D-Milwaukee: “He created such divisiveness in this country. In my heart and my soul I cannot honor this man.” In debates Limbaugh was called a racist, a misogynist and a homophobe.
