GALESVILLE, Wis. – A rare Chickering piano built about 1855 has been donated to the Old Main Cultural Center in Galesville. The piano was the gift of Lynn Miller of La Crosse and her son and wife Chase and Olga. Originally the piano was purchased in Galena, Illinois, and passed in down through the family. The piano joins other antique musical instruments befitting Old Main, which is the old Gale College. which was founded in 1854. Early courses included piano, melodion and guitar lessons.
