ROCHESTER, Minn. – A service club that raises money for charities by hosting casino events reported that its casino trailer has been stolen. The 18-foot trailer, which the Sertoma 700 club tows to events, was last seen October 25 at its usual northwest Rochester storage lot. When club members went to pick up the trailer November 3, it was gone. The trailer’s cargo: 28 casino tables, a vertical spinning wheel, and boxes of cards, chips, fake money, clothing and costumes. Hoping to locate the trailer, the club delayed reporting it missing. But now, a week later, police have been called in. Meanwhile, the club’s charity fundraising is dead in the water. Somebody, members figure, will spot the trailer. It’s oversize, glossy black and emblazoned in gold script that says “Casino Entertainment.” The license plate: CAT8059. The theft was from a parking lot in the 1400 block of Seventh Street Northwest.
