WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary’s University has received the largest gift in its history — $5 million. The gift was from the estate of Lucille G. Stiever, whose husband Robert was a 1949 Saint Mary’s alum. Lucille herself was a librarian at the Ramsey County Public Library in St. Paul for 30 years. She also managed property. She died in 2019. Robert was an economist and accountant for the federal Commodity Credit Corporation and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for 40 years.  Their estate stipulated that the money be used for undergraduates with financial needs.
