WINONA, Minn. — About 60 Winona County businesses and nonprofits have applied for CoVid relief grants from a $1 million state allocation to the county. Applications average about $11,000, according to data from Christie Ransom of the Chamber of Commerce. The chamber, which facilitates the grants, said that roughly $300,000 remains available. The grants are from a $216 million state package to offset revenue losses caused by government-imposed shutdowns and restrictions. “We know that all of our businesses are hurting,” Ransom sid in an interview with radio station KWNO. “There’s nothing that’s been unscathed through this.”
