SHAMROCK, Wis. – The meteor that shot over four states on Friday probably disintegrated over western Wisconsin near the hamlet of Shamrock 9-1/2 miles miles south of Black River Falls, the national space agency says. NASA said the meteor broke up from friction with the upper atmosphere 50 miles up and at 36,000 miles an hour. It was unlikely any remnants reached the ground, NASA said.
